With over 20 years of experience in IT, Rob T. Rae has become an expert on data protection and specifically using technology for business continuity. Although Rob started his career in nance, his passion for technology drove him to join Compaq Computers back in 2000. Compaq was eventually acquired by HP where Rob spent a few more years before looking for “what’s next.” This is where Rob discovered the Internet of everything and the evolution of the traditional solutions and solution providers to newer technology like the cloud.

Rob joined Level Platforms (later acquired by AVG Technologies) in 2006, a network remote monitoring and management technology designed for the SMB market to manage their network infrastructure with a single pane of glass. In 2013, Rob joined Datto, one of the fastest growing technology companies in the world. As Vice President of Business Development for Datto, one of Rob’s duties includes managing a team of evangelists, teaching the world about data protection, business continuity and the true cost of downtime.

Rob has been recognized by several IT publications, including Channel Partners Circle of Excellence Award, a five-time winner of MSP Mentor “Top 250 people shaping IT” award and two-time winner of CRN’s Channel Chief Designation.
